The Messy and Mundane
God is still writing your story. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much of life is in the messy middle and mundane. How amazing it is though when we embrace that this is where the Lord often does the most profound work in us, if we let Him.
What if we viewed our purpose on this earth through the perspective that it’s not about “our goals and desires” but that God wants to do His work through us to advance His kingdom on this earth? What if we believed that we are so uniquely created by Him and there’s something only we can do and be to let His love shine through to the places and spaces we find ourselves in?
We put so much pressure on ourselves to perform and achieve. While it’s wonderful to want to live in and pursue the purposes of God, He never meant for us to strive, compare, and live in our own strength. Are there ways in your life that you have “taken over the reigns” so to speak?
In my life, I’ve found there’s only one way for me to stay surrendered, to be open and submitted to how God wants to move in and through me. It comes in the renewing of my mind in prayer, scripture, and worship. In this place, I find His wisdom, the power of the Holy Spirit, and rest in His grace.
Be encouraged today, nothing slips past God. Don’t be discouraged by what you can’t see yet. This is where faith is built. His dreams for our lives are bigger than our “goals”. His plans unfolding are progressive, and He grows us into the fullness of His plan.
Anchor your identity and faith in His truths, not emotions or your limited natural vision. He moves in seasons and cycles. There are seasons of development and seasons designed by God for implementation. Leaning into prayer, being in His presence, and knowing Him through scripture gives you discernment to know your season.
As you do step into His promises and answers to your heartfelt prayers, don’t forget the path that led you there. The bumpy, difficult, and winding roads - you’ll see He was there all along. Anchor your identity and faith in His truths, not emotions or your limited natural vision. Every day is a new day to trust, pray, and expect.
